Spain is already not the country of the EU with the highest unemployment valuation, since hard recession has been overcome by Latvia, which economy crosses one especially with a contraction of the GDP of 18 %. This way, according to the Eurostat information, the unemployment valuation in the Latvian country has increased 1,1 points up to being located in September in 19,7 %, 4 tenths over the Spanish valuation, which has been located in 19,3 % due to the increase in 5 tenths of the valuation.
For his part, the unemployment in the Euro area has raised a tenth again last September up to 9,7 %. It is a question of the biggest valuation of unemployment reached by the countries that share the single currency from 1999.
Nevertheless, although Spain has stopped being the country of the EU with a major unemployment valuation, it keeps on increasing in many major proportion than the average of the EU. This new increase of the unemployment in the countries of the euro similar to that of August, places the unemployment valuation in his highest level from January, 1999.
For the whole of the European Union, the increase of the unemployment was also of a tenth in September, what placed the valuation of unemployment of the union in 9,2 %, what supposes the worst fact in more than ten years.
Translated for number of persons, the unemployment affected in September to 22,213 millions of of European citizens in age of working. 5.011 millions are this number more than in the same month of 2008. For the countries of the Euro area it affected to 15,324 million, 3,204 millions more than one year earlier, according to the Eurostat information.
For the positive side, the only countries in which the unemployment did not grow were Belgium, which was supported with 7,9 %, Germany (7,6 %), Malta (7,2 %) and Slovenia (5,9 %), while Holland, with only 3,6 %, is the country associate with the lowest valuation, most followed by Austria (4,8 %), although both countries registered monthly increases of a tenth.
