BM and FMAM bet for taking care of the environment

Before finishing the year 2009, the World Bank and the Fund for the World Environment (FMAM) promised to help once again to the care of the environment and to the struggle against the climate change (a topic that was íntensamente debated in December in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark). Días behind one was known that 5,38 million dollars will be destined to finance part of a project on sustentable transport and quality of the air in several cities of Mexico.


The World Bank approved a donation for 5,38 million dollars of the Fund for the World Environment (FMAM) to collaborate with the so called Project of Transport Sustentable and Quality of the Air in Mexico. The same one will help to improve the environment in the Mexican cities of León, Monterrey, It populates and City Juárez, he reported the web site of the BM.

With this sum of money, one will try to improve the air in the above mentioned cities of Mexico and for that one will look for models of transport that take care more of the environment. Between other things, the gas emission of greenhouse effect (GEI) will be diminished and for that there will be implemented politics that promote transports with clean energies, he informed the web.

According to the informed for the web page of the BM, the entire cost of this project will be 36,96 million dollars and it will culminate, in principle, in December, 2013. Rest of necessary money to finance this project will be offered by the governmental counterpart, he published the web.

What is the FMAM? Founded at the end of the XXth century, the Fund for the World Environment is an international entity that realizes donations to those developing countries that have projects to take care of the environment, he published the web site of the World Bank, which added that the same one is administered by the BM, the PNUD and the Pnuma.
